Objective

Combine type and image to create a 20” x 30” poster featuring a musical festival. Imagery and typographic elements must correlate in a cohesive way that supports one another. Create a connection between the two that is both engaging, evocative and that all elements express movement and purpose through value, hue, saturation, hierarchy, and placement.

Solution

I chose to pay tribute to the music festival “Lilith Fair” featuring the first all-female lineup in 1998 which was founded by artist Sarah McLachlan. The underlying purpose of this festival was to project the voices of women artists to the forefront of the male dominated music industry. The tone of this design is soft and edgy to compliment the pairing of women and the powerful message they are sending.

The poster’s texture and images are edited in Adobe Photoshop and all other elements created using Adobe Illustrator.
